SAVE-A-WEIMARANER
WHO ARE WE? We are Weimaraner lovers who volunteer our time and efforts to rescue, care for and find homes for Weimaraners in need. WHAT GEOGRAPHIC AREA IS COVERED? We respond to dogs in need in Reno and No. Nevada, California, and occasionally in Utah and Idaho wherever we are asked to help. WHAT CARE IS PROVIDED? Shots are updated, dogs are spayed or neutered, vet care is provided if needed, shelter is given either in a foster home or kennel, and the dog is evaluated before placement in a new home. WHAT IS THE ADOPTION PROCESS? Anyone interested in adopting a Weimaraner must fill out an Adoption Application. The applicant will be contacted for an interview and a home inspection will follow. If approved, the family and pets will meet the rescue dog to determine if all goes well. The adoption is finalized with an Adoption Contract. We do charge an adoption fee to cover expenses. The fee is reduced for senior dogs. Our volunteers are available to assist with helping the dog adjust to the new home and to become an important member of your family.
