Experienced and dedicated in training Weimaraners for hunting.

We are located in Alameda and Smartsville (near Nevada City), California. Our primary concern in breeding is temperament. Hunting ability and versatility rank almost as high. Our pups grow up to be fine companions, and we encourage participation in AKC and NAVHDA events - shows, obedience, tracking and hunting. We want all our pups to be happy and a tired pup is a happy pup. The hips and health of our pups is guaranteed. Stud service or frozen semen is available for approved bitches.
We expect to breed mid-2010 if there is sufficient interest.

Ch Baron Sparks in the Mist CD, TD, MH, SDX, RDX, VX3, NAVHDA UT3 “SPARKY” 1996-2009

Sparky started out in the ring as a pup and finished his championship at 2-1/2 years old. We then trained him in the field and he completed his master hunter title at just over 4 years old. He has also received his excellent titles from Weimaraner Club of America and a utility title from NAVHDA. He received his CD (obedience title) and two legs toward a CDX. We started training him for tracking when he was 9 years old, and he completed the requirements for his TD shortly afterwards. He was a well-tempered, reserved and very well-mannered dog, although as with most Weimarners, it took him until he was 6 years old to calm down. He liked to think he is an alpha dog, but was really quite gentle. He was 26" tall and weighed 72 lbs. Sparky loved to hunt pheasant and chukar, and was good with quail and in a duck blind. He continually pushed himself when hunting even as he grew older. He hunted pheasant three days before he passed away.

Weimshadow Cross the Rockies CD, MH, NSD, NRD, V, NAVHDA NA1 “ROXANNE”

Roxanne is not a show quality bitch, but has no disqualifying faults. She conforms to the breed standard in all respects. She completed her master hunter title when she was less than 2-1/2 years old.  She did this in five consecutive attempts (we believe she is the only Weimaraner to have done this) over 3 consecutive weekends. She has novice level titles from WCA, as well as her CD. Her NAVHDA performance at the natural ability level earned her two prizes 1's with perfect scores. She is 24" tall and weighs about 62 lbs; she is very friendly and outgoing. Her temperament is excellent and her tail wags almost continuously. She hunts and is very good with pheasant and chukar. She does very well in a duck blind. Her main fault is her hatred of cats.

MJS Little Lady Loose Lips JH, NAVHDA NA 2 “LOOSE”

Loose is our second youngest and is a product of a Sparky/Roxanne breeding. We started her training late in the field, but she completed her 4 qualifying scores for her Junior Hunter title in four consecutive tries in one weekend at ten months old. She took a prize 2 in her NAVHDA Natural ability test in her sole attempt. She is dynamite on pheasant and very good with chukar. Being young her field manners are still being developed. We see a lot of potential in this girl and are continuing her field training. She exhibits extremely good scenting ability both on game and humans, so we have started her tracking training. She loves to be petted by anyone who will show her attention, just like her mother. We expect to breed her in 2010.
