Lethargy can be defined as an abnormal state of drowsiness or dullness. A dog's typical response to disease is to spend more time resting and sleeping and withdrawing from normal activities.
Lethargy is nonspecific with respect to the cause of illness, but is an important indicator that the dog is not well and further investigation is warranted.
